Messiah Young and Taniyah Pilgrim could get $2 million settlement

This time 4 years in the past, America was on hearth actually and figuratively. The world had watched George Floyd and numerous different Black our bodies be killed or bodily abused by a gaggle of women and men who swore to “serve and defend.” We have been all sick of it and we stood up, made noise, and exercised our American proper to say “F**okay this technique and the individuals who codify it.”

The irony of the protests of summer time 2020 is that in exercising these rights, the system and the individuals who codified it took to the streets to show our level. Police enacted egregious and overzealous violence in opposition to those that have been denouncing them, it was a self-fulfilling prophecy of the very worst form, and extra harmless individuals have been damage or killed.

Two of these individuals have been Messiah Younger and Taniyah Pilgrim who have been college students at Morehouse School and Spelman School respectively. Younger and Pilgrim grew to become the topic of shock when a viral video circulated the web displaying them being dragged from their automobile and tased by unruly Atlanta law enforcement officials as they tried to make their method by way of a closely congested space of downtown. Sadly however unsurprisingly, most of these officers have been African-American…

What’s extra galling is that though arrest warrants have been issued for all of the “males” concerned, the prison expenses have been ultimately dropped. God forbid that “blue lives” be held to the identical commonplace of conduct as the remainder of society.

In accordance with a brand new report by WSB-TV, the Atlanta Metropolis Council is ready to vote on a settlement for Younger and Pilgrim to award them $2 million every. The vote will happen on Monday, July 1. BOSSIP may have protection of the end result as quickly because it turns into obtainable.

We hope they get each crimson cent.
